New faces also will be noticeable in some classrooms for the 2012-13 school year. Board members passed unanimously the following hiring recommendations made by Principal Christy Blocker and athletic director and head football coach Steve Marbach -- who the board voted to hire May 23:
•Tara Moy will be a part-time English and music teacher at both Falls City High School and the Luther Thomas Elementary School.
•Former La Vernia ISD teacher Bridgette Gonzales will teach high school mathematics.

•Josh Wadsworth, formerly of Jourdanton ISD, will serve as a coach and will teach seventh- and eighth-grade science.
•Former Sinton High School coach Damian Van Winkle will serve as the offensive coordinator for the high school football team and as head baseball coach; he also will teach social studies.
The board also approved the resignation of science teacher Jim Ed Baugh, who accepted a position in Sonora.
In other action, the board:
•During a special meeting earlier in the evening, approved a $16,500 contract with Buda-based Foundation Innovation LLC, which will provide consulting and marketing services for the Falls City Education Foundation.
•Voted to postpone the July 18 regular meeting to July 25.
