Cook-off, dance to benefit Natalia VFW

Xani’s Xanadu “Rancho Bonito” will host a fund-raiser to benefit the construction of a new VFW post in Natalia, Friday, July 6, from 4 p.m. to midnight and Saturday, July 7, starting at noon, at 301 C.R. 678 E. in Natalia.

If you think your brisket is the best, put it to the test at the annual brisket, chicken, and bean cook-off, with prizes to be awarded to the best entries.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Grammy award-winner Ruben Ramos and “The Mexican Revolution,” Chris Salinas and “The Wild Grass Band,” “Conjunto Sereno,” and many more.

Admission will be $8 on Friday, and $6 before 4 p.m. or $8 after 4 p.m. on Saturday. Parking donations will be $2. Attendees are encouraged to take lawn chairs.
