KENEDY -- Police here are asking for the public’s help in locating 23-year-old Alfredo Vanegas of Floresville. He is charged with murder for his alleged role in the July 1 stabbing death of 24-year-old Daniel Gonzalez of Kenedy.

According to Detective Felix Casanova of the Kenedy Police Department, Vanegas allegedly approached Gonzalez at an apartment complex on Evans Street and stabbed him in the neck. At this time, it is not known whether the two men knew each other.

Vanegas is described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police caution citizens that Vanegas is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Vanegas’ whereabouts is asked to call the Kenedy Police Department at 830-583-2225 or the Texas Rangers at 210-531-4341.
