1931-2012

Henrietta White (Kolacek) Howard, 81, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, in the Regency Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floresville, Texas. Henrietta was born May 30, 1931, in Three Oaks, the daughter of Carl and Matilda Fischer White.

She was married to Max Kolacek from Sept. 26, 1948, until his death in 1978. She and Max raised five children while living in Dewees, Mathis, Pleasanton, George West, and Cotulla.

Henrietta later was married to James C. Howard on Aug. 17, 1985, and they lived in Carrizo Springs until his death in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William White, formerly of Brownwood; her sister, Stella Marie White McDermett, formerly of Sherman; her brothers-in-law, Carroll Moseley, formerly of Floresville, and O.J. Kassaeth, formerly of San Antonio; and her stepdaughter, Sherry Reddick, formerly of La Pryor.

Henrietta is survived by her children, Max Kolacek Jr. and wife Leigh of Lexington, Patricia Gumm and husband Ron of Houma, La., Beverly Hood of Somerset, Lillie Mae Bass of Houma, La., and Susan Payne and husband Jim of Quihi. She is also survived by her twin sister, Mary Etta Moseley, and her sister, Edna Mae Stahl and husband Elroy, all of Floresville, and Marcella Kassaeth of San Antonio; her brother-in-law, Jim McDermett of Sherman; her stepchildren, Gregg Howard and wife Michelle of Carrizo Springs, Kenneth Howard and wife Pat of Buda, and Brooks Howard and wife Diane of Leon Springs; 14 grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 2, at 1 p.m. in the Carrizo Springs Church of Christ in Carrizo Springs; and at 3:30 p.m. in the Cotulla Church of Christ in Cotulla.

Interment followed in the Cotulla Cemetery in Cotulla.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren, represented by Michael Kolacek, Carl Kolacek, John Kolacek, Carl Ray Payne, Elizabeth Hansen, and Bonnie Kolacek.
