Nancy Musquiz Flores, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 5:18 a.m. in the Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 23 days.

Nancy was born April 8, 1930, in Wilson County, the daughter of Martin C. and Manuela S. Muniz Musquiz. She attended Floresville schools and was a homemaker. Nancy married Dolores Mungia Flores on Jan. 12, 1948, in San Antonio. Nancy was a lifelong member of El Mesias United Methodist Church in Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 54 years, who passed away on Nov. 15, 2002; her parents; her infant daughter, Eleanor Flores; and her brothers, Martin Musquiz, Richard Musquiz, Alfredo Musquiz, and Rudy Musquiz.

Nancy is survived by her children, Stella Herrera and husband Raul of Floresville, Bobby Flores and wife Gloria of San Antonio, JoAnn Martinez and husband Alejos of Floresville, Adolph Flores of Floresville, Nancy Robles of San Antonio, and Doris Cabrera and husband David of Corpus Christi; her stepson, Ismael Flores and wife Martha of San Antonio; her 24 grandchildren; her numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; her sister, Mary Helen Quintanilla of Floresville; and her brother, Jesse Musquiz of Floresville.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 8, at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday in El Mesias United Methodist Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Francisco Javier Briones.

Interment followed at 2:30 p.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Serving as pallbearers were Jason Robles, Diego Herrera, Anthony Cabrera, Bobby Flores, Brian Martinez, and Angel Flores.
