Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Ruth Cover Crow passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the age of 89. She was born on May 1, 1923.

Ruth was a member of Pareta Methodist Church. She was an elementary schoolteacher for 25 years and was a lifetime member of TSTA and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Bobby” Crow; parents Robert and LuLu Cover; brothers William “Bill” Cover, Steele Cover, and Atlee Cover; loving sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Milton Volkmann; and cousin Jane Lee Elliott (Jinks).

Ruth is survived by sons Charlie Bob Crow Sr. and wife Debbie and Jack Eden Crow and wife Lisa; sister Virginia Cover Barnhill; grandsons Jack Kelly Crow and wife Cheri, Jim Bob Crow and wife Susan, Charlie Bob Crow Jr. and wife Debbie, and Gordon Ray Crow and wife Angeline; and great-grandchildren Kelby Lane Crow, Erin Faye Crow, Cameron Reed Crow, Casey Robert Crow, and Zach Kaleb Crow. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and lots of wonderful caring friends.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, July 11, from 6-9 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio, Texas.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Warren officiating.

Interment followed in the Cover Cemetery in Sayers.
