Wendell Joe Olinick, 53, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 3, 2012, surrounded by loved ones. He was born Feb. 11, 1959, the son of Joe and Lorene (Sekula) Olinick.

Wendell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing washers. He was an active member of the VFW Post 837 Men’s Auxiliary and was treasurer for several years. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. Wendell was also an organ donor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Olinick.

Wendell is survived by his mother, Lorene Olinick; and his brothers and sisters, Vonnie Brysch and husband Alvin, Ronny Olinick and wife Tanja, Delvin Olinick and wife Laura, and Denise Ramponi and husband Tim. He is also survived by his friend and companion, Debbie Kotara; nine nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 17, from 5-7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.
