Offer condolences


Jerome Winkler of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at the age of 58. He was born June 16, 1954.

Jerome started his career delivering newspapers while a teenager. As he continued, he first worked for Southwestern Bell, and then moved to Time Warner. Jerome was a Chase Bank employee at the time of his passing. An avid baseball fan, he also loved to play the greatest American pastime. In the early 1970s, Jerome was invited by the Houston Astros to try out for the team. Jerome also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Madeline Winkler.

Jerome is survived by his sister, Donisha Brady and husband Mark of Canyon Lake; brothers Victor Winkler and wife Mary Jo of Floresville, and Frank Edward Winkler and wife Judy of Hondo; his daughters, Amy Blue and husband Mike, and Angel Winkler, all of San Antonio; his son, Chris Winkler and wife Stacey of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Diego Winkler, Devon Winkler, Izaiah Winkler, Ethan Winkler, Marseil Winkler, Reanna Blue, and Reese Blue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.
