Another Jubilee has come and gone, and what a Jubilee it was! Jubilee 2012 was definitely a memorable one and one for the record books! We are so proud of the accomplishments made during this year’s festival, realizing that none of it would have been possible without the selfless help of our volunteers and sponsors. Thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors, as well as to our guests at the Jubilee. The amount of support we received during the weekend was unprecedented, a feat that we hope to replicate for years to come!

A big thank you goes out to the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department for its assistance with parking for our guests and volunteers during the weekend, which was no small feat!

Additionally, we owe a debt of gratitude to the city of Stockdale and all of its personnel, including our City Manager Banks Akin; these men and women put in countless hours of work to help us get the Jubilee off the ground each year, fielding more than their fair share of phone calls and questions and keeping our city park in pristine shape for all of our guests to enjoy.

And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all of the other directors on our board for the immeasurable amount of time spent away from family and friends over the past year and during Jubilee weekend. Our Jubilee is where it stands today because of the hard work of many who go unrecognized, so if you see one of these individuals around town, please express your appreciation for their service to our community.

Even with all of the success, we realize that no event is perfect, and, as always, we value constructive feedback and ideas for possible improvements. If you would like to become more involved with our organization or have ideas for future festivals, please feel free to attend our next meeting Monday, July 30, at 7 p.m. in the Stockdale Economic Development Corp. office.

Sherry D. Lambeck is the president of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce.
