Friday, July 6

Compared to last week: Hay prices traded mostly steady on continued slow movement over the holiday week. Trade activity and demand continues to be light to moderate. Three-digit temperatures and dry conditions continue to drop soil moisture content, leaving producers worried if there will be another hay cutting. Dairies and feedlots continue to purchase only immediate needs and using previously contracted supplies. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.

North, Central, & East Texas

Alfalfa: Small Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme limited test $330, $10 per bale; Good to Premium $265-$330, $8-$10 per bale.
