The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. La Vernia High School (LVHS) invites all incoming freshmen to Cub Camp 2012! What is “Cub Camp”? Cub Camp is a weeklong orientation designed to help incoming LVHS freshmen learn everything they need to know about high school.

Attendees will learn about credits, transcripts, scheduling, career planning, diploma options, college readiness, and much more. The goal is to provide students with learning opportunities to help them have a successful high school educational experience.

Cub Camp Activities:

•Monday, July 23 -- Cub Camp Kickoff! Parent/student information session in the district auditorium from 6-8 p.m. Counselors will present a short information session. Following the session, tables will be set up and available in the foyer area with information on different clubs, programs, and activities available at LVHS.

•Tuesday, July 24 -- College/Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the district auditorium. Visit with representatives from college campuses as well as individual professionals for useful information on college and career readiness.

•Wednesday, July 25 -- Career Cruising from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Campers will complete career interest inventories that will help them track activities and classes to plan for college/tech/military and work-force entry.

•Thursday, July 26 -- FISH CAMP!! All-day campers will receive a fish camp T-shirt, and lunch will be provided. Students will also receive lockers and schedules, and will meet their teachers while touring the high school. Counselors will connect with small groups of students to talk about success during and after high school.

•Friday, July 27 -- Forecasting Your Future from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Campers will work individually with a high school counselor to develop their four-year plans that represent their college and career goals.
