TJ Burleson graduated from Rice University in Houston on May 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the 99th Commencement Ceremony held in the Academic Quadrangle at the university. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and linguistics. Graduates symbolically completed their journey at Rice by exiting through the Sallyport that they entered when arriving at the school as freshmen.

TJ will pursue a Master of Arts degree in theater in New York at Binghamton University in the fall.

TJ attended Floresville schools from kindergarten through 10th grade. He graduated from Manor High School near Austin in 2008. TJ is the son of Edwina Johns Hayden of Cedar Park and Thomas Burleson of Floresville. He is the grandson of Edwin and Rosie Johns and John and Barbara Burleson, all of Floresville. Family and friends attended TJ's graduation in Houston and are extremely proud of all his accomplishments in the theater field at Rice University and wish him the best as he broadens his career in New York.
