Help Wanted

Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. In this day and age, the only thing children know is TV, the computer, cell phones, Texting, Email, and Movie Thrillers that promote excessive drinking, doing drugs from good ole' Hollywood that promotes the most violent movies EVER. These are "things" and they do not provide a child with compassion, love, and care and they do not show the child how to show these emotions. These are the things that are now raising our children - not the parents.

Politics is the dirtiest ever! How many of you really think that the wounding and killing of 70 people by a young man in his 20's will be the last? Do you think that the political scene will now improve and the Prez will quit his nasty ways? Do you think that all parents (even the druggies) will now wake up and say - "darn I need to grow up and be a parent". Do you think that Hollywood will quit making such violent movies?

Has this horrific incident made you sit down and look at the big picture? The Prez gets up and talks about his family in his monotone voice - no emotion about the sadness, etc of the incident. Governor Romney talked about God and the love of the family with plenty of emotion and one could tell that he is a man who loves his God. Has anyone seen the differences in these two men?

I just wonder...... They pulled their campaign ads, lowered the flag, gave speeches. Does this mean Monday morning that the nastiness will be taken out of the Presidential Election this year and the focus will be on the problems that we have, OR will they go back to the same ole thing - gloves come off and the viciousness comes out again - How will this incident really change the hate that is spilling all over in the United States of America? Does anyone think that God is trying to tell the Country something?

Only when we have a God fearing man in the White House will this Country even have a chance to clean up the mess!

Alvin, Since you are an atheist, I am sure you enjoy stirring up those on believe in God. Who cares about Mitt's taxes at least he wasn't a dope head like Obama.

Obama is a sick man. He knows that Karl Marx, Chairman Mao, Socialist Parties, etc have never really been successful but only created misery, but he is determined to try them again.
