Sgt. Devin Keen of the Floresville Police Department receives a kiss from his K-9 partner, Zorro, prior to returning to duty in April 2009 after Keen underwent cancer treatment. Zorro lost his own battle with cancer July 23.

FLORESVILLE -- The local law-enforcement community is mourning the loss of Zorro, the Floresville Police Department’s K-9 officer, certified in both patrol and narcotics detection. Zorro’s handler, Floresville Sgt. Devin Keen, confirmed his partner’s death July 23. . . .
