ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Louis P. Marroquin, a longtime resident of Wilson County, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 3:25 p.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 19 days. Louis was born at Picosa Ranch in Floresville on Oct. 30, 1934, the son of Elias and Maria Perez Marroquin.

He graduated from Floresville High School and was a laborer for many years. Louis married Antonia Cisnero Muniz on March 2, 1955, in Floresville. Louis was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 35 years, Antonia Marroquin on March 28, 1990; his daughter, Sabina Marroquin; and his sister, Lupe Lozano.

Louis is survived by his children, Louis Marroquin Jr. and wife Christina of Poway, Calif., Marilyn Belcher and husband Jerry of Boerne, Mary Marroquin and husband Ron Koby of San Antonio, and Anthony Marroquin and wife Lori of Saspamco; his siblings, Theresa Cantu and husband Gilbert of San Antonio, Dolores Ramos and husband Domingo of Floresville, and Trinidad Marroquin and wife Janie of San Antonio; his grandchildren, John Belcher, Sabina Marroquin, Louis M. Marroquin, Marina Marroquin, Chanel Koby, and Jessica Andrew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Friday, July 20, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Andres Ramos, Steve Castro, Elias Marroquin, Gilbert Cantu Jr., Ron Koby, and Pablo Cortez.
