Help Wanted

CCSCT, a nonprofit, is seeking an Assistant Cook to assist with preparation and cooking of home-delivered meals for its Senior Nutrition Program in Floresville. Applicants must have HS diploma equivalent and minimum of 1 year of experience in meal preparation, meal planning or related work experience. Additional work experience may be substituted for education. Interested applicants can apply online at www.ccsct.org or can apply in person at 1513 3rd St., Floresville, Texas.
The Wilson County Clerk's Office is accepting applications for a full-time clerk. Qualifications: Must have two (2) years office experience dealing with the public, be computer literate, use a 10 punch adding machine, and be able to use a typewriter. Bilingual preferred, but not required. Must be able to lift at least twenty (20) pounds. You may contact Eva S. Martinez at 830-393-7309. Judges select interim Wilson County auditor

Floresville-based certified public accountant Verna K. Gorzell has been tapped to serve as the interim county auditor, according to an order signed today by judges Stella Saxon of the 218th Judicial District and Donna Rayes of the 81st Judicial District.

According to the order, she will serve in this capacity from Aug. 1 to Jan. 31, and will be compensated at a rate of $6,000 per month.

Gorzell will replace long-time Auditor Ray Wolff, who retired effective today. More about Wolff’s retirement can be found in the Aug. 1 print edition of the Wilson County News. Both of these items are listed on the agenda for an Aug. 3 special meeting of the Wilson County Commission-ers Court.

The first rule of a good auditor is to be independent. Something that was definately not an attribute of our last auditor.
