FLORESVILLE -- City utility customers in Floresville received a little extra something with their recent water bills. Included in the envelope with the bills sent last week were inaugural copies of the city’s newsletter.

Volume 1, Issue 1 is reproduced below as a courtesy for readers. Penned by Councilman Sherry Martinez Castillo, the newsletter outlines various projects the city has accomplished or undertaken while Castillo has been on the council. She also offers appreciation for the “dedication, loyalty, and work ethic” of city staff members.

Castillo closes her two-page letter with an assurance that she is a “dedicated servant, making decisions to the best of my ability, led and directed by non-other [sic] than my principle centered beliefs. God is with me always.”

This newsletter can be viewed at wilsoncountynews.com; space also has been allocated on the city’s website, cityoffloresville.org.

This newsletter was very unprofessional and unbecoming of an elected official. She is not a figure I would want my daughter to look up to. Quite dismayed. I'd expect more professionalism, not snide remarks.

Mrs Castillo, Whose conscience are you trying to clear? Why I bet it is yours. You and the rest of City Council would earn respect from your constituents if you would just be honest, transparent ( no more secret meetings ... More ›

What an absolute joke! An insult to the intelligence of thinking taxpayers. Sounds like a propaganda sheet out of Berlin in the early 1940's. What a crock!
