Richard R. DeLeon passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 53 years and 11 months. He was born on Aug. 28, 1958, in Floresville to Antonio and Antonia DeLeon.

Richard was lovingly known as “Tiger” to all of Floresville, said his family.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Floresville and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio DeLeon; and his brother, Johnny DeLeon.

Richard is survived by his mother, Antonia Rodriguez DeLeon of Floresville; sisters Lynda DeLeon, Estella Casanova, and Mary Lou DeLeon, all of San Antonio; brothers Steve DeLeon, Tony DeLeon and wife Florinda, Bobby DeLeon, David DeLeon and wife Soila, Joe DeLeon and wife Cindy, and Tomas DeLeon, all of Floresville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and numerous dear friends from Floresville.

A visitation was held Tuesday, July 31, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, followed by a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

A Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment will follow in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.
