The People Who Care (PWC) are looking for volunteers and participants to assist in a barbecue cook-off, washer/cornhole tournament, and more planned for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15, in the Mesquite Hall at 11663 Ford Road in Adkins.

The cook-off meat categories will include brisket, pork spare ribs, and half-chicken with an entry fee of $100. Other categories will be pinto beans, chili, and open cook’s choice with a $25 entry fee.

All proceeds will benefit the FFA and 4-H students of the East Central Independent School District. For more, contact Wayne Pieniazek at 210-347-9620 or waynepieniazek@gmail.com.
