The La Vernia Independent School District (LVISD) placed ninth in the State AAA UIL Lone Star Cup competition. This competition is sponsored by the UIL and ranks schools on their extracurricular programs, including all UIL events. This includes athletics, music, one-act play, and academics. What a distinction and honor! This demonstrates commitment, skills, and the discipline to commit to excellence. We have great students and great sponsors. LVISD is truly committed to excellence in its programs.
The UIL Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to five high schools, one in each of the five UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A), based on their team performance in district and state championships. The winning schools in each classification will receive the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship, also presented by the UIL.
Honoring the best overall athletic and academic programs in Texas, the UIL Lone Star Cup is open to all UIL participant high schools.
Standings include state and area marching band, team tennis, cross country, volleyball, football, swimming and diving, wrestling, girls basketball, boys basketball, soccer, golf, track and field, academics, one-act play, softball, and baseball.
