Help Wanted

The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will work directly under the Border Prosecution Unit Initiative dedicated to Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years prosecutorial experience and extensive felony trial experience. Howard Ray Keylich, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at 7:16 a.m. in the Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center in San Antonio at the age of 60 years, 9 months, and 25 days. Howard was born Oct. 5, 1951, in Hondo, the son of Hilbert and Bertha Sanitz Keylich.

He worked with North American Coal for many years, and was of the Lutheran faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Fred Keylich.

Howard is survived by his beloved daughters, Jennifer Keylich and Kristie Keylich and husband Michael, all of Floresville; his granddaughter, Tara Wernett; his brothers and sister, Robert Keylich, Tommy Keylich and wife Betty, Larry Keylich and wife Leslie, John Keylich and wife April, Carl Keylich, James Keylich, and Brenda Vaughn and husband Dave; and his niece and nephew, Stacy and Clifton Vaughn.

A visitation was held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Fairview Cemetery in Wilson County officiated by Pastor Gordon Lindley.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Shipley, Mario Garza, Robert Keylich, Larry Keylich, Tommy Keylich, and Jeremy Keylich.

I sm do sorry to hear of Howard's passing. I was out of town and just heard about it. I remember Howard with very fond memories. I am so sorry for your loss.
