The San Antonio Area American Red Cross will hold its second annual “Red Carpet Gala,” with special guest speaker U.S. Army veteran J.R. Martinez, Saturday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Valero Headquarters, Building D, at One Valero Way in San Antonio.

Since spending 34 months at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio recovering from injuries suffered in Iraq, Martinez has joined the cast of ABC’s “All My Children,” won the 2011 edition of “Dancing with the Stars,” and was named one of People magazine’s 25 Most Intriguing People of 2011. He now travels the country to spread his message of resilience and optimism.

Other entertainment will include “Gli Unici” -- three tenors comprised of Donald Braswell, top finalist in “America’s Got Talent”; William Chapman; and Timothy Birt.

For more information, contact Susie Walker-Atchison at 210-582-1983 or visit www.saredcross/redcarpet.
