Joyce Kneupper started her postal career in the Adkins Post Office in 1983 as a rural carrier relief. In 1984, she became a clerk in the La Vernia Post Office, where she worked for 20 years. In 2004, Joyce was promoted to postmaster at the Hobson Post Office. During her career, she went on assignments to Sutherland Springs, Falls City, McQueeney, Marion, and the district office in San Antonio.

While Joyce has thoroughly enjoyed her nearly 29 years in the U.S. Postal Service, she and her husband O.L. are looking forward to traveling and spending time with their children and grandsons. Joyce retired on July 31.

Bernadine Labus retired on April 13 after 18 years of service. She started as a clerk in Panna Maria and soon after, transferred to the Hobson Post Office.

During her many years at Hobson, she was the officer-in-charge and assisted surrounding post offices when needed. Bernadine, along with her husband, Vincent, who is a retired Falls City rural carrier, plans to enjoy time with their children and grandchildren, and take a few trips on a chartered bus.

The ladies will miss the customers, but are definitely looking forward to new adventures.
