The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driverís License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. Matt and Lee Dockery of Karnes City, Texas, are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Cassie, to Gilberto Villela, the son of Luis and Judith Villela of McAllen.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Anita Dockery of Adkins, and Elaine Green of Dillon, S.C., and the late Col. Bud Green.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Jose Gilberto Resendez Herrera of Reynosa, Mexico, and the late Alicia A. de Resendez, and Berta Leon de Villela of Reynosa and the late Amado Villela Velazquez.

The couple met at their alma mater, Baylor University, in Waco.

Cassie is a 2005 graduate of Karnes City High School and a 2008 graduate of Baylor University. She is currently the owner of Seymour Construction, based in Karnes City.

Gilberto is a 2005 graduate of The Science Academy of South Texas and a 2010 graduate of Baylor University. He is currently a petroleum engineer.

The couple are planning a September wedding on the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.
