Essentials of Gardening will be held Monday, Aug. 20, from noon until 3 p.m. at the San Antonio Garden Center located at 3310 N. New Braunfels in San Antonio.

Author Ralph Yznaga will talk about “Living Witness: Historic Trees of Texas.” Following Yznaga’s talk, learn how to create a colorful butterfly garden with Cheryl Gorhum, Bexar County Master Gardener and a volunteer with Gardening Volunteers of South Texas.

The class is free and open to the public. No advance registration is required.
