Hay & Forage report for July 27

Compared to last week: Alfalfa traded mostly firm. Chopped Alfalfa sold $5-$15 higher. Wheat and Coastal Bermuda remained mostly steady. Trade activity and demand was moderate. Many dairies and feedyards are purchasing hay on an as needed basis or feeding hay already bought on contracts. Remains hot and dry throughout most of the state despite a few scattered showers reported. The southeastern region continues baling the third cutting. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
North, Central, & East Texas
Alfalfa: Small Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme limited test $330, $10-$14 per bale; Good to Premium $265-$330, $8-$10 per bale.
Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme $260-$270.
Coastal Bermuda: Small Squares: FOB: Good to Premium $265-$330, $8-$10 per bale; Fair to Good $6-$8.
Large Rounds: FOB: Good to Premium $60-$90 per roll, few sales $100-$110 per roll; Fair to Good $50-$60 per roll.
South Texas Hay Report
Coastal Bermuda: Small squares: FOB: Good to Premium $230-$300, $7-$9 per bale; Fair to Good $200-$230, $6-$7 per bale.
Large rounds: FOB and delivered locally: Good to Premium $120-$160; $60-$80 per roll.
