Don and Holly Deaton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15, 2012.

They met on a blind date, and after knowing each other only three months, were married in a wonderful, small ceremony in Holly’s mother’s living room with all of her family members, who sadly are all gone now except for her brothers, Gary, and George, and George’s wife, Marilyn.

The Deatons will celebrate this milestone by traveling to Big Bend with their Mazda group to take in the beautiful sights of the Alpine area and witness the annual big balloon fest.

They have been blessed with two wonderful children, a son, Donald William Jr. and his wife Gracie, and their three daughters, Amber, Auburne, and Ariel; and a daughter, Dayna, and her daughter, Maddison Miley.

Don and Holly’s life together has been a blessed one, filled with many ups and downs, but they have never been happier than now ... living in Floresville and finding true happiness in a town they love dearly.
