Vickie Griffin, 51, of Smiley, Texas, died Aug. 8, 2012, in Gonzales. She was born on June 19, 1961, in Crystal City to Edwin and Minnie (Stevens) Mica.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Nathan Kenneth Griffin.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, Ashley Griffin of Smiley; six sons, Nathan Griffin II and Joseph Griffin and wife Alice, all of Colorado City, and Dwayne Mica, Scottie Griffin and wife Maria, Brian Griffin and wife Christina, and Jarad Griffin, all of Smiley; three grandchildren, Kenny Ray Griffin, Kaitlynn Griffin, and Tyler Griffin, all of Smiley; two brothers, Steve Brandon and wife Virginia of Edna and Randy Mica and wife Kim of Sweeney; her sister, Sandra Stewart and husband Viron of Flatonia; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many friends.

Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 10, from 4-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. A graveside funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Griffin Cemetery near Smiley with Deacon Troy Gibson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
