Compared to last week: Alfalfa prices traded steady to firm this week. Other classes of hay traded mostly steady. Trade activity was light to moderate on moderate demand. Many dairies and feedyards continue to purchase hay on an as needed basis or feeding hay already bought on contracts. Hot and dry temperatures remain throughout most of the state. Some east Texas producers are hanging on to what hay they have to see how the rest of the season unfolds. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted. . . .
