Compared to last week: Alfalfa prices traded firm to $5 higher this week. Other classes of hay classes remain mostly steady. Trade activity was light to moderate on moderate demand. Dry conditions continues to have producers holding on to their hay to see how the rest of the season unfolds. Many hoping for more rain just to get a third cutting. Triple digit temperatures remained in the area and many cattle producers are having to feed hay and cull their herds. Many dairies and feedyards are still buying hay on as needed basis.
