FLORESVILLE -- Wilson County 4-H’ers have recognized future leaders and scholarship recipients, as well as outstanding service, during the county’s 2012 4-H Achievement Night. The western fun-themed banquet was held Aug. 5 in the Wilson County Show Barn. Also during the banquet, Dennis Hale, Texas AgriLife Extension county agent for agriculture and natural resources, was recognized for his 32 years with the Extension office.

Kimberly Lanier was honored with the Golden Clover Award, the highest county achievement award.

Kytheranialynn Fambrough-Brown received the Danforth “I Dare You” Award.

Recognized for their contributions to the 4-H Club were the Friends of 4-H -- Bill Morgan, Kevin Sells, and Wilson County Meat Market.

Betty Freasier was recognized as the Outstanding 4-H Leader.

For the complete list of honorees, see “4-H snapshot.”

Georgia Dunn, president of the 4-H Council, served as mistress of ceremonies.

The Three Oaks 4-H Club’s “Team Contagious,” which competed in state competition in Lubbock in the “Share the Fun Celebrate 4-H” division, presented its first-place state skit.

Hale was honored for his contribution while working with youth. He has served Wilson County for the last 3-1/2 years, since the retirement of Charlie Pfluger.
