Aggies encouraged to support College Colors Day

COLLEGE STATION -- Aggies will have a chance to share their school pride on a national stage, as Texas A&M University participates in the inaugural “Pledge Your Allegiance for College Colors Day” month-long, online competition during August.

The website-based rivalry competition, which includes 165 participating colleges and universities and is an element of this year’s 2012 College Colors Day celebration, will run through the entire month leading up to College Colors Day on Thursday, Aug. 30. Throughout the competition, standings will be tracked nationally, as well as by conference.

While College Colors Day -- an annual event which encourages people across the country to wear the colors of their favorite college or university to promote the college experience -- will be celebrated nationwide on Friday, Aug. 31.

The competing school with the most registrants on www.espn.com/collegecolorsday at the end of the month will win the prestigious College Colors Day Spirit Cup and $10,000 toward the school’s general scholarship fund.
