Letter: Library extends gratitude to sponsors, performers
The Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library Summer Reading Program 2012 has been declared a huge success. The summer has come to an end and the kids are excited to be going back to school. We had a total of 720 participants entered in the summer reading program that logged over 13,155 minutes of reading. Adults also read and logged over 384 books.
We would love to thank everyone that volunteered to help. We would also like to thank our sponsors because without them we wouldn’t be able to have such a successful reading program. This year’s sponsors were: The Friends of the Library, Wilson County News, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, Buckhorn Saloon & Museum, Car-Vel Skateland, Cheesy Jane’s, Cracker Barrel, Enchanted Springs Ranch, First National Bank, Floresville City Pool, H-E-B, IMAX Theatre, Incredible Pizza, Laser Quest, Mata’s Café, Missions Baseball, Olivia’s Mexican Restaurant, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, Retama Park, Ringling Brothers Circus, Rockin’ R River Rides, San Antonio Museum of Art, San Antonio Zoo, Schlitterbahn, Texas Roadhouse, Texas Ski Ranch, The Magik Theater, The Rollercade, Whataburger, Wonderworld Park, and ZDT’s Amusement Center.
We would also like to thank the performers that participated this year: Bernadette Nason, Bonzo Crunch the Clown, Cody Sanders the magician, and Mark Babino.
Thank you all again; we couldn’t have this wonderful program at the library without you. I can’t wait to see everyone again for the 2013 Summer Reading Program where we will “Dig into Reading!”
