1927-2012

Aubrey Jean Smith Busby went to heaven Sunday morning, Aug. 19, 2012. She was born Feb. 23, 1927, to Aubrey Lee and Edna Wells Smith.

A devout Baptist and dedicated mother, Aubrey also found time to do charitable work. She loved to sing in the choir and sang at many functions. She loved playing the piano and did so beautifully. She loved country music and yes, honky tonk too! Sewing for her family and friends was a joy to her as was the love she had for her cats. As a small girl, she would bring home every stray she could find and was still that same girl up to the time she became ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Russell Smith; sister Kathryn DeLany; and daughter D. Karen Busby Ewick.

Aubrey is survived by her son, Kevin Lee Busby and wife Nora of Seguin; one grandson, Kevin Ewick of Kentucky; three stepgrandsons, Christopher Lum of Alabama, Steve Lum of San Antonio, and Jason Lum of Karnes City; six great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat- grandchildren.

A service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Palmer Mortuary Chapel in Seguin, Texas.
