Offer condolences


Glenn Hons, a longtime resident of Poth, Texas, entered eternal rest Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at 6:45 p.m. in his residence in Poth, at the age of 55 years, 9 months, and 30 days. Glenn was born Oct. 23, 1956, in Karnes City, the son of Alvin and Bernice Malik Hons.

After graduation from Falls City High School, Glenn worked as a material handler with Ashland for 33 years. Glenn married Karen S. Mutz on Oct. 16, 1982, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Hons.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of more than 29 years, Karen S. Hons of Poth; his children, Joshua Hons and Jenn Gorzell of Poth, Marcia Weed and husband Jason of Converse, and Stacey Drzymala and husband Ray of Poth; his grandchildren, Seth Drzymala, Sadie Drzymala, Dylan Hons, Khydin Weed, Kaebin Weed, and Paisley Gorzell; his mother, Bernice Hons of Karnes City; his brothers, George Hons and wife Roberta, Wayne Hons, Carl Hons and wife Bernice, Roy Hons and wife Lilly, and Steven Hons and wife Brenda; and his sisters, Jeanie Sprencel and husband Efrem and Ann Palermo and husband John.

Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Stefan Wiera.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were John Bodden, Allen Hons, Kirby Hons, Terry Hopper, Mike Hopper, and Donnie Kotara.
