Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1927-2012

Ann Sprouse, 85, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. She was born on May 8, 1927, in Alikchi community, Okla., to Joe Preston Pruett and Letha Jane Jordy.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister Anita Raser; and brothers Preston Pruett and Elzie Pruett.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roland Sprouse; son Ronald Sprouse of San Antonio; daughters Roxanne McCarty and husband Robert of Spring, Rolene Sprouse and husband Gerry Dunk of Dripping Springs, and Rosanna Kirkland and husband Richard of Glasgow, Scotland; grandchildren Robin McCarty of Spring, Robert Michael McCarty and wife Jodie of Spring, and Brianna Patteson of Kyle; great-grandchildren Eric Lindquist, Dane McCarty, and Hannah McCarty, all of Spring; sisters Janice Haines and husband Joseph of Natalia and Pearley Sapp of Pensacola, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 31, at 10:45 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Pastor Erin Weaver to officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
