LA VERNIA -- The La Vernia Independent School District, along with the La Vernia Sports Association, is planning a Meet the Bears night Wednesday, Sept. 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Bear Stadium.

The event, which will be hosted by Greg Simmons of KSAT 12 News, will introduce the students, athletes, and coaches who will participate in a variety of activities this fall including the high school football teams, the Lady Bear volleyball teams, the cross-country and tennis teams, trainers, cheerleaders, members of the Mighty Bear Band, the color guard, and the Honey Bear dancers. The junior high football, volleyball, and cross-country teams will also participate.

The event is free and the entire community is invited to “Meet the Bears.”
