This year, the Texas Hunters for the Hungry program provided 153,082 pounds of venison to nearly 100 organizations that serve low-income people across Texas. That is more than 600,000 servings of lean protein in the diets of those hungry, or at risk of hunger. The program, administered by the Texas Association of Community Action Agencies Inc. (TACAA), has exceeded 9 million servings of venison over the last two decades. . . .
