FLORESVILLE -- Playoffs seem to be the norm at the annual Kosciusko Open, and it happened this year as two teams tied for top honors Aug. 18 at the River Bend Golf Club at Floresville.

When play ended, two teams were tied at 61, prompting them to return to hole No. 10 to determine a winner. The team of Trey Denison, Rafa Reyes, Jamie Overocker, and Steven Molina won the playoff, edging out the team of Todd Fields, Travis Land, S.V. Pruski, and Grant Simpson.

The third- and fourth-place teams were also tied with scores of 62, and a second tiebreaker was needed. Bobby Skloss, Clint Doege, Mark Mutz, and Michael Skloss eventually took home third-place honors, as Jeremy West, Jacob Scheel, Herb Adams, and Butch Wiatrek finished fourth. Land had the longest drive of the tournament, and Jeremy Pruski, Mike Jacobson, and West were closest to the pins.

There were a total of 60 players in this year’s tournament. The Kosciusko Open is held each year to benefit the Kosciusko Athletic Association.
