Help Wanted

CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Offer condolences


Eloy J. Tejeda Sr. passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 16 days. He was born in Floresville on March 6, 1946, to Amado Tejeda and Juanita Vasquez. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eloy Joe Tejeda Jr.; a sister, Rosemary Rodriguez; and a brother, Ernest Tejeda.

Eloy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lucinda Tejeda; his daughter, Rebecca Ortiz and husband Freddie of Floresville; his sister, Janie Ramirez; brothers Rudy Vasquez and wife Mary Lou and Albert Vasquez, all of Floresville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Monday, June 25, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Freddie Ortiz Jr., Angel Rangel, Julian Ruiz, Robert Rodriguez, Daniel Gonzalez, and Michael Salazar.
