Poth ISD sets up foundation
POTH -- The Poth Independent School District (ISD) is proud to announce the formation of the Poth Education Foundation (PEF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization solely benefiting the district’s teachers, administrators, and students through grants that will enhance and improve their education.
The foundation charge, “Charting the Course for Excellence,” brings together community innovators, educators, leaders, and learners with the united goal to increase community support and to expand resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize opportunities for all students at Poth ISD.
Through contributions received, the PEF will provide funds for educational programs and activities which are not funded by the district’s normal operating budget. These funds will be used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence, and to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses, and civic organizations.
Funds will be distributed through innovative teaching grants that will provide resources directly to the classroom for teachers to implement exciting new educational programs. The grant application process will begin this fall with awards presented early 2013.
Volunteers from the community serve on the founding board. Included in this dedicated group are Jackie Kutac, Richard Ramirez, Jackie Moczygemba, Karla Blackstock, Jonathan Sunday, Sara Pfeifer, Anthony Cantu, Delores Cruz, Sara Dallmeyer, Lacey Kotzur, Heidi Noll, Travis Pruski, Rebecca Raabe, Denise Stavinoha, Larry Wauters, and Scott Caloss.
