Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1934-2012

Robert J. Crunk III, 77, of Seguin and formerly of Nixon, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in San Antonio. He was born on Aug. 30, 1934, in Cuero and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Robert graduated from Texas Lutheran College, taught in the Nixon Independent School District for 25 years, and was an avid Longhorn fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamlin and Laura (Burt) Crunk.

Robert is survived by his sister, Laura Ellen Chandler of Smiley; his niece, Nancy Parker and husband John of Seguin; his nephew, Mike Chandler and wife Marty of Austin; and many friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 5-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Harlene Sadler officiating.

Interment followed in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nixon United Methodist Church, 410 North Franklin Ave., Nixon, TX 78140; Smiley United Methodist Church, Morey Street, Smiley, TX 78159; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
