1917-2012

Dr. Alexander Daniel Broll, DC, 95, passed away in the St. Francis Nursing Home in San Antonio, Texas, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012. He was born Feb. 27, 1917, in DeWitt County, the son of Nicholas and Johanna Ebrom Broll.

He was a World War II veteran and went ashore on Utah Beach as part of the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944.

Later, Alexander attended Palmer Chiropractic College and practiced for many years in Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

Alexander is survived by his nieces and nephews, Emerence Labus, Lilliam Janik, Frances Schreifels, Fred Moczygemba, Theresa Wilcox, Gladys Pollok, Rita Kolodziej, Kathy Dotson, Mary Ann Williamson, Lorraine Broll, Frank Broll Jr. Michael Broll, David Broll, and Christine Yovanovich.

The family appreciates the loving care he received from the sisters and staff at St. Francis Nursing Home.

A rosary was recited Tuesday, Sept. 4. at 2 p.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown, with a funeral Mass following.

Interment followed in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Yorktown.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Nursing Home, 630 W. Woodlawn Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212.
