Women’s ranch rodeo Sept. 8 in Kenedy

“Pretty in Pink, Wicked in Spurs” women’s ranch rodeo will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Chesnutt Arena, located next to Alexander Ford in Kenedy. The rodeo is just one of three events to be held that day.

Events for the ranch rodeo include sorting, mugging, branding, trailer loading, and rescue race.

Admission is $2 per person. Children 8 years and younger are admitted free. Proceeds will go toward forming a South Texas Women’s Ranch Rodeo Association in 2013.

A steak cookoff will be held at noon. Late entries and walk-ups fee are $75/team.

The men will participate in a Men’s Double Mugging contest at 4 p.m. Three-member teams will compete for an 80 percent payback and prizes for a $50/man entry fee, if registered by Sept. 7, $60/man for late entries and walk-ups.
