ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Lions to host Edmund Kuempel Memorial golf tourney Sept. 15

SEGUIN -- The La Vernia Lions Club Edmund Kuempel Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at Max Starcke Park Golf Course in Seguin.

The annual event will feature a single-day, four-man scramble tournament, with prizes going to the top three teams, as well as to the golfers who hit the longest drive and land closest to the pin.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per player, and includes a meal after the tournament. All funds raised go to the La Vernia Lions Club Scholarship Fund.
