Stahl becomes chief appraiser for Wilson County Appraisal District
Brian Stahl, who for almost four years served as the assistant chief appraiser of the Wilson County Appraisal District, now serves as its chief appraiser. The district’s board of directors voted to promote Stahl, who will replace former Chief Appraiser Eddie Bridge, at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Stahl said after the meeting that his annual salary will be $60,000, which is $10,000 less than that of his predecessor.
Succeeding Stahl as the district’s assistant chief appraiser is Jenny Coldewey, who previously worked as senior appraiser. Coldewey’s former post remains vacant, Stahl said.
Also during the meeting, the board approved the district’s 2013-14 reappraisal plan. Stahl said the first year of the plan will have appraisers surveying cities, towns, and subdivisions within the county. The city of Poth already is complete, he said, and Stockdale is in progress. From there, Stahl expects the appraisers to move on to La Vernia and then Floresville.
While it was not a part of the meeting, the appraisal district’s fiscal year 2013 budget became effective Sept. 6. Stahl said that was the deadline by which the county’s taxing entities had to act upon the spending plan. He was unaware of any entities voting against the $1,129,279 budget.
