1964-2012

Velma Milner, beloved wife of James Milner of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at the age of 48. She was born in Nixon on March 15, 1964, to Virgil and Mary Lea Stewart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry Jackson, Leroy Rhodes, Lester Stewart, and Clarence Stewart; and sisters Judy Stewart and Mary Lou Stewart.

Velma is survived by her husband, James Milner; sisters Louise Pendleton and Gladys Kirkland, both of Seguin, and Shirley Rhodes of Gonzales; brothers Lonnie Johnson of Whitewright, Charles Rhodes of Lockhart, and Andrew Stewart, Billy Stewart, and Charles Stewart, all of Gonzales.

Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 10, from 6-8 p.m in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Scott Jones officiating.

Interment followed in the Nockenut Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
