1931-2012

Garvis E. Cochrum passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 23 days. Garvis was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Mexia, the son of Tommy and Ruby Cochrum.

He was a former resident of Alice and a resident of Floresville for one year. Garvis was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Garvis is survived by his daughters, Linda Maxey of Yoakum and Wanda Maxey of Shiner; his sister, Patsy Newman of The Woodlands; his brother, Marion Cochrum of The Woodlands; his grandchildren, William Troy Danysa, Jerry Brasher, and Glenis Danysa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A small family gathering was held in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
