1942-2012

Paul Edward Check passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in La Vernia, Texas, at the age of 70 years and 5 months. Paul was born March 16, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Peter and Olga Check.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1961. Paul married his beloved wife, Minnie Ybarra, Oct. 23, 1965. He was a member of the San Antonio Police Department from July 1, 1973, until Jan. 23, 1998.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Check, and his parents.

He is survived by his dear friend and caregiver, Rachelle Littlefield and husband Boyd of Floresville; his friends, Carisa Gamez and Leslie Saenz; his brother, Patrick Check; and his faithful dog and companion, Missy.

A memorial service will be held for Paul and Minnie Check Thursday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with Chaplain Danny Hubbell officiating.
