1922-2012

Ella Grun of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 2 days. She was born April 28, 1922, in Ausweiler, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Grun; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

Ella is survived by her nephews, Joe Grun and wife Beverly, Johnnie Grun and wife Carolyn, and Arthur Grun and wife Lisa; her niece, Francis Hartwick and husband Frank; great-nephew John Grun; great-niece Sandra Peschke and husband Alan; and many loving friends.

A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11:30 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, with Pastor Robert Palin officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post No. 8555, P.O. Box 421, Poth, TX 78147.
